deleted all my old entries.  don't really have a good reason why.  it was extremely time consuming, and i can't say it was just out of boredom.  it wouldve been easier for me to just make a whole new xanga account, or even on EMOspace or something, but im too lazy to create and customize a layout.  also, this xanga account has been active since november 2002.  that's half a year after high school graduation, but seems like such a long, long time ago.

so where to begin (again)?  im about a week from turning 22. the day after that i start what will hopefully be my last semester of college.  the past year was one of the more interesting years of my life.  the first half (spring 2005 semester) was very different from the second half.  i worked out regularly, went out and drank a lot, and went home almost every weekend.  i also kept up with my classes and did fairly well on exams.  summer hit and i got incredibly lazy.  started a new job but stopped going to the gym.  i also unofficially quit my job at the library.  all of summer it was work most of the day and play all night.  fall semester started, but i didnt ever leave summer mode.  i worked nearly the same amount of hours, and for a short while even more than i did in the summer.  dropped a class, skipped a bunch of lectures, never did my reading.  that went on for a good few weeks and until one random night i started freaking out.  midterms were coming up and i knew absolutely nothing.  it was probably around 4am and i was writing emails to my GSIs, asking for extensions and special exceptions.  tried getting caught back up in all my classes, but was too far behind to be able to do so.  one thing i did learn was that you can't pass all your classes if you start at midterms...
so that leaves me here, with 1 week of winter break left, and living almost the exact same routine i was in during my last week of summer vacation.  but its a new year, and i'll be starting 1 year wiser.  i didn't make any new year's resolutions (new year's popped up out of nowhere for me this year), but i am setting some noobish goals for myself for the next year of my life.
never wake up late for a class or work shift.
read every night
not let my class attendance fall below my raid attendance (omg 75%)

1 week left, and im going to spend it adjusting.  i go to bed at ridiculous hours, and waste so much of my day doing absolutely nothing.  so i'll need to finish all the games i won't be able to play once classes start, reorganize my room so that i actually have work space, and maybe even get a haircut.  but for now, its 7 am and im still not in bed.  so i'd better end this.

Here's a sample entry to show you some of the basics

Adding New Entries - to add a new entry to your site, just click the "New Weblog Entry" link above (it's right under the "search all xanga" bar). When you click the link, your little xTools Editor window will pop up. Just type your entry into the xTools window and click "Submit" to add it to your site.

Editing Your Entries - to make edits, click the little "edit it" link at the bottom of your entry. (Note: if you don't see this link, it means you're not signed into your Xanga site. When you sign into your site, you should see this link after each of your entries.) When you click the link, your little xTools Editor window will pop up showing your current entry. Make any edits you want in that window and then click "submit" to publish the edited entry to your site.

Public vs. Private Entries - this entry is currently private, which means only you can see it. You can make each of your entries "public" (for anyone to read) or "private" (for your eyes only) when you first write them or anytime you "edit" them. You can also flip this setting back and forth by clicking the little "Public/Private Entry" link at the bottom of each entry.

Adding Links and Images - to add links and images to your entries, just click the little "Add Link" or "Add Image" links inside your xTools Editor window. The specific steps that happen next depend upon the type of browser and computer you're using (click here see a detailed description), but they should be pretty easy to follow no matter what you're using .

Some Editing Tricks - if you're using an Internet Explorer browser, you can use standard keyboard shortcuts when writing or editing your entries (e.g. Ctrl-b for bold, Ctrl-i for italics, Ctrl-u for underline). You can also use standard keyboard shortcuts to cut and paste: ctrl-c to cut and ctrl-v to paste. (Sorry, Netscape and some other browsers may not support these features, yet.)

More Things to Try - there are lots of great ways to use and customize your weblog. Visit our Getting Started section for more ideas.

Good luck and have fun with your weblog!

P.S. Don't forget to install your xTools Browser Button; it takes only a few seconds to install, it lets you publish anytime, from anywhere on the Web... and it's free!
